Arthroscopic Surgery

Arthroscopic surgery is a surgical procedure which allows Dr. Berenson to view your joint without making a large incision through the skin. It is used to diagnose and treat many shoulder and knee problems. During the surgical procedure, a small camera is inserted into the joint. The orthopedic surgeon then uses these images to guide small surgical instruments which assist in exploring and correcting joint problems. Due to the instruments small size, patients will have less pain, less stiffness, and quicker recovery time.

Connecting the thighbone to the trunk, the hip involves a cup-and-ball-like joint that allows for a great deal of motion in a variety of directions. Hip joint replacement is common among people with arthritis. Severe arthritis pain can limit every day activities such as sitting, standing, walking or bending. If you find that you can’t perform normal activities, sleep through the night because of hip pain, other treatments haven’t worked please schedule an appointment with us.  We will evaluate, diagnosis your condition and help provide relief from your hip pain.

The knee is the largest joint in the body that ties the thigh with the leg and is a system of moving parts made of cartilage, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Typically, all of these components of the knee work together to perform everyday activities and gives us the strength to run, squat, jump, and turn. However, injury or disease often occur and can result in muscle weakness, reduced function, and pain.  When the knee is damaged by injury or disease such as arthritis, it may be hard to perform simple activities such as walking or climbing stairs.

Knee joint replacement surgery is an effective procedure which can correct leg deformity and allow the joint to move smoothly.
